The waiters are a mixed group who bond over challenging customers and engage in lively debates about various topics. One day, their old school mate visits and mocks their job choices, making them feel inadequate. When one of their group offers to lend them money to start their own restaurant, they embark on an exciting new chapter in their lives. The film highlights the importance of pursuing one’s passions and not just settling for a job to pay the bills.
Director’s Statement: In WAITERS I wanted to portray everyday conversations among Bruneians. The underlying message of the film is a call to action – encouraging individuals to take charge of their lives rather than passively waiting for opportunities. I set the story in a single location for a realistic portrayal of a day in the life.
