Director’s Comment: The Old Man and The Robot is a co-production between the UK and South Korea. I wanted to make something that told a fairly simple story, but allowed for lots of creative flourishes, as well as visual and metaphorical ideas to be buried within the images and the story. Within the story of two beings working together for a common goal, I wanted to tackle themes such as global warming, our relationship with nature, ageism, AI and the future of our planet.
