After unknowingly revealing the location of an ancient rainforest to a ruthless logging tycoon, park ranger Remi is betrayed and left for dead. Saved by a mystical jungle spirit, he is reborn as a tiger—the forest’s new guardian—forced to navigate the wild and witness the destruction caused by human greed. Now, Remi must embrace his new form and fight to protect the land he once endangered, seeking redemption in the battle for the jungle’s survival.
Director’s Comment: Ian is a filmmaker based in Kuala Lumpur. He began his career directing music videos and commercial projects, before exploring more personal, experimental work. Grounded in craft but open to new technologies, his work reflects an ongoing interest in how storytelling is evolving by combining traditional techniques with tools like AI and VFX. This is his first short animation project.
Remi’s Jungle came from a place of love and frustration. I’ve always felt a deep connection to the natural world—the sounds, the colours, the creatures, the calm. But watching our forests vanish and knowing how much is lost to illegal logging really got to me. I needed a way to make sense of that anger, to do something with it. So I poured it into this story. It’s my way of honouring the wild beauty we still have—and a small act of defiance against what’s being taken away.
