Synopsis: Full moon at the end of January – in a huge cave cathedral near Kuala Lumpur, the Hindu festival Thaipisam is celebrated, with many devotees falling into a trance for Lord Murugan for purification and empowerment. The short film gives a sensual and hypnotic insight into the event with its rituals, spirituality and deeply touching community spirit, being attended by the whole family from the youngest to the oldest.

Director: Joo Peter studied at the art academy in Stuttgart and the film university in Berlin,Potsdam Babelsberg. He is a writer, filmmaker and artist and has worked for theatre, opera, musicals, dance, TV and cinema. Since 2005, he has been teaching, travelling, filming and publishing.
