Synopsis: Inspired by the beautiful nickname of Sabah – The Land Below the Wind - CRAZE BELOW THE WIND is an adventure comedy road movie that takes place in Sabah, Borneo. The movie tells the story of Ah Long, who is forced into smuggling to save his troublemaking sister. However, in the midst of a smuggling activity, Ah Long accidentally cuffs the suitcase onto a woman’s wrist. With criminals and the police on their backs, the two have no choice but to work together to get out of trouble. The story takes place all around Sabah, from the East Coast to the West Coast, from the mountains to the sea. The unique beauty of the state and its unique culture are on full display. The movie aims to provide a fun ride for the audience in the Land Below the Wind without them leaving their seats.

Director: Katak Chua is a Sabahan filmmaker who was born and raised in Borneo. His family used to run a videotape rental business when he was young. It served as a gateway for him to enter the world of cinema. Before he made his debut as a movie director, he left home to work in the film industry. Over the years, he has worked in different fields in the industry - from advertisements to short films, documentaries, television shows, telemovies, and online movie productions. He did so to accumulate experience and polish his resume. All along, he has dreamt of promoting his homeland— Sabah, the mysterious land of Borneo, - to the world through cinema. Finally, the chance came in 2020, when he made his first theatrical directorial debut in a movie named “Craze Below The Wind.” This is an action-adventure comedy filmed in Borneo with a hidden message beneath it. As of now, Katak Chua is preparing his second movie-“The Eight Ringgit Millionaire.” |
