Indigo, a stuttering college student, finds a magic cubicle in the toilets that transports him back in time. Upon abusing this power to improve his speech problem, Indigo gets lost in time and experiences the history of student activism in his university from the 1970s to the 2000s. This film aims to rediscover historical narratives, given the Philippines’ present political situation – another Marcos regime – and as we are faced with historical revisionism.
Screenings/Awards: Screened at numerous film festivals; Best Direction, Sinepiyu XVI Ligaw: Paglibot sa Kawalan
Director’s Statement: The concept for this film came from a personal struggle: a speech disorder. I also wanted to explore time travel in cinema. I developed the idea during the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law by the late dictator-president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. As part of my advocacy for a better and just society, I want to defend the memory of the past.
